Marco Conti


Marco was born in Imperia and graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Università degli Studi di Milano. In 1996 he completed his PhD in Human Physiology at the Università degli Studi di Milano, in 1997 the specialization in Sports Medicine at the Università degli Studi di Brescia and in 2015 the 2° level Master in Ecografia Muscoloscheletrica at the Università degli Studi di Torino.

During his career he has focused mainly on the shoulder, creating a strong collaboration with Prof. Alex Castagna with whom works from many years as an assistant in both clinical practice and surgery room. With Prof. Castagna he also manages the functional pre- and post-surgery evaluation and the programming of the rehabilitative processes.

Marco has completed several fellowships at international centres of excellence such as the Ortopaedic Specialty Institute Medical Group of Orange County, California (USA) c/o Dr. Ben Rubin, the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention (USA) and the Southern California Orthopedic Institute – Van Nuys, California (USA) c/o Dr. Steve Snyder. 

From 2016 to 2018 he held the position of Chief of Rehab Commission for the SICS&G (Società Italiana Chirurgia Spalla & Gomito) and from 2014 to 2017 the role of Vicepresident and then President of the EUSSER (European Society of Shoulder & Elbow Rehabilitation).

A long-time advocate of medical research, he has published several papers on international peer-reviewed journals, with articles on the shoulder, from traumatology to the selection of the best rehabilitative intervention.

Marco nowadays works at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano, Milano (Italia) as a specialist and consultant for the Shoulder Rehabilitation Department.
