Luca graduated in Medicine & Surgery at the University of Turin (Italy), after which he moved in Switzerland to complete his specialization in orthopedics and traumatology.
He worked at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève under the guide of Prof. Menetrey where he focused on sports-trauma pathology, particularly of the knee. In this period, in addition to refining his clinical and surgery skills on the knee, he started the collaboration with the UOTS Team to follow the athletes of various sports club including the Hockey Geneve Servette and the IAM Cycling Team.
He returned in Ticino in 2015, where he was appointed Head in charge of the Knee and Sports-Trauma Team, first at the Regional Hospital of Lugano, then in all the four hospitals of Canton Ticino.
Luca doesn’t only work in his clinical practice, he is also an active member of the scientific research community, with several papers published on international journals. He is a member of the Swiss Orthopaedics, the ESSKA, the SIAGASCOT and he was invited as a speaker to many international congresses.
Luca is an AO instructor in traumatology, as well as an instructor and development consultant for surgery techniques and surgery instruments of the knee.
