End of the module
A module part of a Certificate
This single module is part of a broader Certificate, the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Certificate by NOVAVIA Project, that is organised in 2 modules, for a total of 42 ECM:
- Neuromuscular Adaptations and Strength Training (Module A – S&C Certificate)
- Movement and Coordination Adaptations, Plyometrics, Speed and Change of Direction (Module B – S&C Certificate)
Check out all the modules’ editions of the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Certificate - scroll down to find dates and locations details.
Only attending all the program’s modules will lead to receive the Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Certificate by NOVAVIA Project.
Module description
This 3-days module provides therapists and allied practitioners an opportunity to build a greater understanding of the key themes within Strength & Conditioning. Starting with exploring the needs analysis of individual and event demands, attendees will be exposed to a performance backwards approach to aid effective planning and programming. The emphasis will mainly be around neuromuscular adaptations and the principles and application of weightlifting exercises for strength training. This includes understanding common faults and corrective strategies aligned to these. Time will also be spent on understanding appropriate assessments, including a component part around trunk training and testing.
This module has been designed to align to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Job Task Analysis Summary
This module will allow attendees to build on their current knowledge and experiences by providing problem-based and decision-making learning frameworks to assist in individual learning outcomes.
Learning objectives
- Expose attendees to the principles of an individual and event needs analysis aligned to neuromuscular adaptations and strength training
- Provide opportunities for attendees to apply a needs analysis using a performance backwards approach
- Expose attendees to the fundamental neuromuscular adaptations of strength training modalities
- Provide opportunities for attendees to practice weightlifting exercises, their derivatives and identify common faults with corrective strategies
- Provide problem-based learning to challenge planning, programming and assessments aligned to the neuromuscular adaptations
- Provide attendees a framework to assess and programme trunk training work capacity
